Volvo XC90 gets Polestar upgrades

Volvo’s seven-seat SUV has been given some Polestar performance upgrades, although it’s unknown if the XC90 will get a full-blown Polestar variant yet. This Polestar Performance Optimisation starts from £835 but the boost isn’t dramatic, with the petrol only gaining 14bhp.

Mad modified cars feature at SEMA

The SEMA show features crazy concepts from car companies to aftermarket tuning products, and this year has been no different. Mazda stole the show with two concepts from its new MX-5 while Toyota went mad for over the top SUVs.

Origami Nissan Juke

Nissan have been hard at work constructing a Juke out of paper to celebrate 700,000 sales of the popular crossover. It took more than 200 hours for the artist to complete.

Toyota Autonomous tech tested

While at the Tokyo Motor Show we got the chance to test out Toyota’s autonomous driving system, called the Mobility Teammate concept, on a Lexus GS. Using pinpoint accurate satellite navigation, a forward facing camera and laser and radar object detectors the car was able to navigate a busy highway on its own.

Hyundai launches Genesis sub-brand

Hyundai is expanding on its flagship Genesis saloon and developing a whole luxury car division. The Korean firm plans to roll out the brand at the end of the year and promises six new Genesis branded models by 2020.
