J&K cabinet reshuffle today, Nirmal Singh steps down as deputy CM

Nirmal Singh quits as the deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir a day ahead of a reshuffle of the Mehbooba Mufti cabinet. He added that “a fresh face from BJP will be taking over”. The cabinet reshuffle comes after days of strain in the relationship between the BJP and Mufti’s PDP. State assembly speaker Kavinder Gupta will be the new deputy CM said a BJP leader. Kavinder Gupta is a first-time MLA and has served as Mayor of Jammu for three terms.
