Sales of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ Rose 236 Percent After Pulitzer Win According to Nielsen, the Grammy-winning album sold 1,000 more copies in the week ending April 19 than it did the week prior. Overall, ‘DAMN.’ has sold 1.1 million copies since its April 2017 release. Digitally, the album sold 11,000 songs in the week ending April 19, an increase of 29 percent from the week prior. Finally, streams of the album’s songs grew 25 percent from 21.6 million to 26.9 million. ‘DAMN.’s’ win marked the first non-classical or jazz musician to win the Pulitzer Prize for music since the award’s inception in 1943.
