White House Slams Judge's DACA Ruling: 'Extraordinarily Broad And Wrong'
The White House on Wednesday slammed the recent ruling on DACA.

In the wake of another court ruling against the Trump administration on rescinding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called the court order, "wrong on the law."
"The DACA program violates federal law. President Obama went around Congress and created the illegal DACA program. We believe the judge's ruling is extraordinarily broad and wrong on the law," Sanders told reporters at a press briefing on Wednesday. "What's worse is that it creates an incentive for more illegal immigrant youth to come here, and causes them to expect similar judicial policies be applied to them."
"This ruling is good news for smuggling organizations and criminal networks, and horrible news for our national security. It's time for Congress to do what the President has called on them to do, and offer to be part of and actually fix this problem," Sanders added.
Trump announced in September that he would be ending the DACA program and asked lawmakers to come up with a legislative solution for 'Dreamers,' undocumented immigrants brought into the U.S. as children.
However, the New York Times notes, "[Trump] has repeatedly backed away from potential deals that he argues do not include immigration changes that are tough enough."
Meanwhile, there have been multiple rulings on the matter in the past several months.
In the most recent ruling, U.S. District Judge John D. Bates said on Tuesday that "the decision to phase out the program starting in March 'was arbitrary and capricious because the [Department of Homeland Security] failed adequately to explain its conclusion that the program was unlawful,'" according to the Washington Post.
