Udta Punjab is an upcoming Indian thriller produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films and helmed by Abhishek Chaubey. The movie stars an ensemble of Diljit Dosanjh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Now that we have seen the fan made trailer of the film, here’s the preview…

If you thought that the thriller film is a light hearted comedy or something, then you are wrong. In fact, the Shahid, Alia, Diljit and Kareena starrer is a gritty thriller, which revolves around drug abuse and drug mafia in the state. All four actors will play the lead role in the film. While Diljit will be seen romancing Bebo, Shahid is paired opposite his Shandaar costar Alia. In spite of working together in the same film, the Jab We Met costars won’t share a single frame.

Phantom Films will be presenting Udta Punjab and is considered to be one of the first stoner films of India to deal with drug abuse subject. So far Bejoy Nambiar’s Shaitaan has come close to this topic; nonetheless it doesn’t really address the matter of substance abuse. We haven’t seen a lot of Bollywood films that deal with substance abuse, and this one is first of its kind, hai na? Considering the film’s high profile star cast and subject, there’s no doubt Udta Punjab is surely a massive hit.
