PREMIERE: Petrichor -'Mångata' (Live AV)

To celebrate the launch of his critically acclaimed new album on Soma Records, Petrichor has worked together with a small team of video mapping specialists in Scotland to pull together an incredible immersive live performance of the title track from the album. Utilising Ableton Live software alongside a Fender Rhodes piano and analog and digital synths and effects, the track unfolds through live looping techniques. 'Petrichor - Mångata' is out now on Soma Records.

This video was a concept created by Simon Stokes (aka Petrichor), Tim Edgeler (Digital Triangle), Matt Ralph (VJPlanetArm) and Andy Stentiford (Funktioncreep). The idea was to use projection mapping techniques to create an immersive live performance in a unique space. The venue chosen was an ancient lecture theatre in a disused vet college in Edinburgh, complete with a drain in the floor used when dissecting animals. The venue has now been taken over by an arts collective, Summerhall.
