Trump and Macron pledge stronger measures to contain Iran
  • 6 years ago
US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to seek stronger measures to contain Iran. Trump labeled the Iran nuclear deal as “a disaster” and “insane” as he hosted Macron in the Oval Office and refrained from committing to staying in the 2015 nuclear deal. He also threatened Tehran with retaliation if it restarted its nuclear programme. Midway through a three-day state visit by Macron, the two leaders were remarkably chummy repeatedly shaking hands and raved about each other’s friendship.
