Police 'attack protester's car' in Yerevan clashes

Eyewitness video has emerged from downtown Yerevan of a recent protest in which police lash out at demonstrators.

In the video, filmed last week, police try to break the windows of a car that is trying to drive away.

Protesters can be seen pleading with the police in the video.

According to the eyewitness, police damaged the car doors and forced the driver to accompany them to the police station because he was against long-running leader Serzh Sargsyan.

The Armenian capital has been gripped by protests in recent days after Sargsyan made attempts to cling to power.

Sargsyan resigned as prime minister on Monday.
