A person has died after a Southwest Airlines flight suffered an engine failure in-flight.
The blown engine peppered the fuselage with shrapnel as it disintegrated mid-flight, forcing an emergency landing.
The Boeing 737 was travelling from New York City to Dallas, but landed at Philadelphia International Airport following the engine failure.
According to the FAA, the crew of Flight 1380 reported damage to one engine, the fuselage, and a window, which caused the cabin to lose pressure.
