With just four days left until the 2018 inter-Korean summit, Susan Thornton, acting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs will meet with Seoul's senior officials to discuss North Korea's nuclear issues and the developments on the peninsula.
After a quick greeting with South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha on Monday morning, Thornton is currently meeting Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, Yoon Soon-gu. She is then slated to meet Seoul's top nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon on Tuesday.
During her three day stay, she will discuss how the two countries can cooperate to successfully host the upcoming summits, denuclearize North Korea and stabilize the Korean Peninsula.
