Pashtun Protection Movement speaks up against extrajudicial killings
  • 6 years ago
Some 30 million Pashtuns live in Pakistan - that's around 15% of the country's population. Partly because most Taliban members are Pashtun, the word "Pashtun" has, for many Pakistanis, become synonymous with "Taliban" and "terrorist". That's a view now being challenged by the vocal yet peaceful Pashtun Protection Movement. Attracting a large number of young people and women, they are speaking up against extrajudicial killings and discrimination. Solène Fioriti and Shahzaib Wahlah report.
