Report: Rosenstein Told Trump 'He Isn't A Target Of Any Part' Of Mueller Probe

Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that Rod Rosenstein recently told President Trump, "he isn’t a target of any part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation."

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reportedly told President Trump that he is not considered a target in any aspect of Robert Mueller's investigation.  Bloomberg reports, citing sources, that Trump was given that assurance one week ago while meeting with Rosenstein.  "After the meeting, Trump told some of his closest advisers that it's not the right time to remove either man since he's not a target of the probe. One person said Trump doesn't want to take any action that would drag out the investigation," Bloomberg added. The revelation comes amid growing concerns that Trump will move to curb the investigation by firing either Mueller or Rosenstein.  At a Wednesday press conference with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, Trump said, "They've been saying I'm going to get rid of them for the last three months, four months, five months, and they're still here."  He also asserted the matter of possible collusion between his campaign and Russia "was really a hoax created largely by the Democrats as a way of softening a loss."
In a recent tweet, Trump also blamed the probe for the current state of US-Russia relations.
"Much of the bad blood with Russia is caused by the Fake & Corrupt Russia Investigation, headed up by the all Democrat loyalists, or people that worked for Obama. Mueller is most conflicted of all (except Rosenstein who signed FISA & Comey letter). No Collusion, so they go crazy!" Trump tweeted last week.
