NASA’s newest planet hunter is gearing up for its first mission. The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite is scheduled to lift off aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on Monday from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Meteorologists have said launch weather is a "go" with an 80 percent chance of favorable conditions. To watch the launch live, tune into NASA’s TESS blog or at NASA TV. TESS will spend two years mapping the sky, in search of planets that have the capacity to harbor life.
