According to a report by Business Insider, the sloths' notorious slowness is actually a key to the 64 million year-old species' survival. Their slow moving nature is actually an efficient means of conserving energy, and it is directly related to their diet. According to the World Wildlife Federation, sloths move no more than 125 feet per day and crawl at a pace of about 1 foot per minute.
