Last year omedian Hari Kondabolu released the documentary The Problem With Apu.
He said the character of Apu is racist against Indians.
The comedian had been hoping the show would respond and change the character.
The Simpsons responded by saying it may or may address the issue.
Kondabolu then went on an unhinged, week's long twitter tirade against the show.
Now, Al Jean, the Simpsons showrunner, has responded.
Jean addressed the controversy, and, taking the high road, said the staff is considering the 'right' response.
