Miami Marlins Begin 2018 With Empty Seats
  • 6 years ago
The Miami Marlins are having a rough start to the 2018 season, including attendance.
According to reports, the Marlins only drew a crowd of 6,150 people when they played the New York Mets in a 4-to-1 loss.
On the same night, their minor league affiliate, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, drew in a crowd of 6,960 fans.
But the attendance in Jacksonville may have been influenced by the concessions, since they were serving $1 beers.
Its been a weird season already for the Marlins, on and off the field.
More recently, the Marlins ownership group claimed residency in the British Virgin Islands, as part of a legally strategy to move a lawsuit from a local court to a federal court.
