Poor Nicaraguan women turn waste into fashion accessories
  • 6 years ago
Nicaraguan women learn how to turn recycled materials into jewelry and other accessories in a workshop in Managua whose mission is to aid illiterate, poor and at-risk women to find gainful employment. The process to make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, scarves, key rings, hair accessories or bags with unique details in this workshop is completely manual.
The material used is scraps of fabric, paper and leather donated by companies or small workshops of footwear and clothing. This collection of exclusive accessories from Chureca Chic, may end up in a showcase in New York, London or Barcelona.
