Ravi Shankar Prasad seeks apology from RaGa for Cambridge Analytica's role in manipulating elections
  • 6 years ago
The Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that Rahul Gandhi should apologise now that Cambridge Analytica's role in manipulating elections is clear and Facebook has decided to stop it. Earlier, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg endured hour’s long grilling by dozens of US senators during which Zuckerberg repeatedly apologised and promised privacy reforms. Zuckerberg told us senators that his company will do everything to ensure fair polling takes place in India and other countries. He also expressed regret that his company was slow in identifying the Russian operations in 2016. The hearing is taking place after reports started pouring in march that the social networking site had compromised with the personal data of over 87 million Facebook users to Britain-based Cambridge Analytica - which allegedly influenced voters during the 2016 US Presidential elections as well as polls in India.
