Thousands of 'snow buns' appear in Beijing parking lot

Hundreds of giant bun-shaped mounds of snow have appeared in a parking lot in Beijing last week.

The clip, which dates from April 5, shows the surreal sight of what local media described as "snow buns" lining the parking lot in perfect symmetry.

The unusual phenomenon occurred after snow started to melt.

The snow-bun shape was formed because of the difference in surface temperatures and water permeability in each lot between ground made of brick and ground made of soil.
