Kimi Raikkonen reveals why he broke Ferrari mechanic’s leg at Bahrain Grand Prix

Raikkonen was called into the pits on the 37th lap as he looked for a quick tyre change.However, disaster struck just seconds later as he was shown a green light to leave without all of his new wheels attached.The rear left tyre then came loose as he sped off and he ran over the leg of one of his team members.The Fin stopped just meters later after he realised the devastated left in his wake.Ferrari have since confirmed that the mechanic was rushed to hospital and suffered a double break.Raikkonen was evidently gutted at the incident and explained that it was a mistake with the lights which caused such horrific scenes."I don't know what shape he is in. For sure, not great for him,” Raikkonen said."I go when the light is green.“I don't see what happens behind and unfortunately he got hurt.“My job is to go when the light is green.“I don't know more than that and hopefully he is OK.".Raikkonen retired from the race following the collision.Meanwhile, fellow Red Bull driver and the race winner Sebastian Vettel said: “I’m a bit sad as I think in the pit-stop with Kimi one of our mechanics got injured, so send him my best regards."It's a mixed day.".
