Andy Serkis, the actor who played Gollum in 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, told Newsweek that he hopes the creators of Amazon's Middle-earth series will bring something completely fresh and new to the franchise. It reportedly expects to spend upwards of a billion dollars on at least five seasons of the show.
