The Supreme Court today will pass order on the BJP West Bengal unit’s plea alleging that its candidates are not being allowed to file their nomination papers for the Panchayat polls next month. In its plea, BJP sought an extension of the last date of nomination, which is today, and online availability of nomination papers. The West Bengal congress has also moved the Calcutta High court seeking free and fair polls in the state. Section 144 of CRPC has been imposed in and around places within the Kolkata police jurisdiction where the process of filing nominations is on. Meanwhile, the BJP the party office was reportedly ransacked by TMC supporters at Gabberia in West Bengal last night.
