Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday met the Lingayat seer in Karnataka. The BJP-Congress are locked in a war of words ahead of the Karnataka elections 2018. BJP President Amit Shah, meanwhile, rejected Congress' demand in Karnataka for a separate religion tag for Lingayats. Amit Shah said that Lingayats are not a separate religion and assured Veershaiva seers that there will be no division. Shah has said that this is the commitment of the government.
