Sales of printed romantic fiction and some other categories are on the rise in India, but serious literary fiction still struggles. Publishers and authors are adopting new strategies to reach young readers increasingly addicted to smartphones. The FT'S South Asia bureau chief Victor Mallet reports from Jaipur.
