The Chinese currency is growing in influence on the world stage and is on track to become one of the world's reserve currencies within a decade. But Eswar Prasad, senior fellow at the Brookings Institute and author of 'The Dollar Trap', tells the FT's David Pilling that it is unlikely to become a safe haven currency without significant institutional as well as financial reform.
