Striking Oklahoma Teachers Head to State Capitol

On Tuesday, sign-carrying Oklahoma teachers who are in the second day of a strike, staged rallies in front of state lawmakers. Hundreds of public schools across the state have been closed as the educators demand higher pay in the latest movement. Officials estimate over 30,000 educators were off the job in Oklahoma on Tuesday and that classes were canceled for 500,000 of the state’s 700,000 public school students.
