My successful teeth straightening experience | Inman aligner\r
\r
I had overcrowding in the bottom set of my teeth. This caused one tooth to be pushed back and the ones beside it a little crooked. So my dentist recommended the Inman aligner.\r
\r
What is it? \r
Its a removable aligner that has a spring coil. This is the mould of my teeth at the beginning. So the back is pushing the teeth forward and the front is pushing the teeth back so they can all become straightened. \r
\r
Its custom made so my dentist took impressions of my teeth so they could create the aligner.\r
\r
The Treatment\r
\r
The treatment involved regular visits to the dentist every 2 weeks.\r
\r
There was a lot of teeth filing involved which sounds painful but it wasnt at all I didnt mind it.\r
\r
It is recommended you wear it for 16 hours a day and remove it whilst eating. I also had to bring a toothbrush and toothpaste to work so I could clean my teeth after every meal. Just generally keep it clean by giving it a gentle brush with my toothbrush.\r
\r
I did experience achy teeth which occurred after the aligner was tightened. For me this only lasted for a day. \r
\r
I also couldnt eat hard food as my teeth would feel quite sensitive.\r
\r
How long does it take?\r
I was advised that my particular case would take around 12 weeks. Mine ually took about 9 months. Although I do believe it would have taken less. After not much movement in the first 10 weeks we had to start the whole treatment again with more aggressive filing and that is when we saw the teeth starting to move really quickly.\r
\r
How much does it cost? \r
It probably varies depending on what dentist you go to but I was told the ual aligner costs £500 and the rest of the cost is for the dentists services.\r
