2018 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD R-Design review

The 2018 Volvo XC60 T6 is a midsize premium crossover with subtle Nordic luxury. The T6 signifies a turbo- and supercharged I4 making 316 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic is standard.

The XC60's R-Design trim adds sporty elements like sculpted seats, a gloss back mesh grille, matte silver mirror caps, integrated tailpipes and 19-inch alloy wheels. The best part of the interior is the 12.3-inch digital driver display that brings in all relevant climate, nav and radio functions, though it takes some getting used to.

Handling in the XC60 is similar to its GLC and X3 competition -- it does everything pretty well. Steering inputs are video game-esque, but that’s expected with over-boosted electric power steering systems. This Volvo manages bumps without spilling your coffee or waking your baby. That said, there is the expected body roll that comes with softly sprung SUVs with high centers of gravity.
