The Malco Theatre located in Hot Springs, Arkansas was built in 1946, however its rich history goes back much further. This documentary reveals the people, construction, entertainment, civil rights aspects and renovation of one of Arkansas’s most famous theaters.

Called “The Showplace of The South”, the “Malco Music Hall” diverse history began as “segregated theater” from 1946 – 1963. Becoming a 2 screen cinema in the ‘80s, and the original home of the nations’ oldest/largest Documentary Film Festival. The Malco is now the new home of the extraordinary illusionist Maxwell Blade Theatre of Magic.
