Illegal structures demolition in MOWLEM...
The ongoing demolition of condemned buildings across the city is a measure being taken by the Nairobi City County Government together with the stakeholders in an effort to save lives of innocent Kenyans who unknowingly have been living in condemned houses.
However, we are cognizant of the fact that the right to adequate housing is a right in the Constitution of Kenya. Article 43(1) (b), provides that ‘every person has the right to accessible and adequate housing and to reasonable standards of sanitation.
Please, for the safe of the security of Nairobians, let us vacate all condemned houses with immediate effect.
