Decision Karnataka: BJP President Amit Shah lashes out at Siddaramaiah for dividing Hindus
  • 6 years ago
The Election Commission today announced the dates for Karnataka Assembly elections. Elections would be held in a single phase. The polls will be held on May 12 and the results would be announced on May 15. While Karnataka elections are critical for the Congress which has been wiped out from most major states it used to rule, they are also important for the BJP to make in-roads into the south. The BJP is leaving no stones unturned to unseat the Congress. BJP President Amit Shah meanwhile lashed out at Siddaramaiah for dividing Hindus by demanding a separate religious tag for Lingayats. Shah had earlier said that BJP's tsunami would drown the Congress in Karnataka. Karnataka is all set to see a triangular fight with the JDS-led by Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda - also emerging as the third most important player in the fray.
