Russia: Boris Johnson's Putin-Hitler remark is 'disgusting'

Alexander Yakovenko, Russia's UK ambassador, has said that Boris Johnson's comparison of President Vladimir Putin to Adolf Hitler is "unacceptable" and "totally irresponsible". Yesterday the foreign secretary drew a parallel between Russia hosting the World Cup this year to Hitler's 1936 Olympics. Speaking at a press conference in London today, Mr Yakovenko replied saying: "Nobody has the right to insult the Russian people, who defeated the Nazis." Report by Chulanin.
