This is the moment a daredevil plummets 56 meters (185 feet) without any safety rope as part of a thrilling stunt.

GoPro video shows pre-school teacher Billy Marrone hanging from a rig hundreds of feet above a protective net at the Zero Gravity Thrill Park in Dallas.

Marrone can be heard nervously telling an attendant of the rig to “just do it” before he is released.

The stunt is part of a new series of videos from the US-based thrill seeker who has previously had a brush with death.

In 2015, Marrone attempted his first triathlon where he crashed his bike face-first into a rock, suffering traumatic brain injury, a broken coccyx and a sprained wrist.

GoPro footage from the race captured the whole journey, from the swimming portion of the race to Marrone recovering in hospital.

It was posted to YouTube and gathered more than 880,000 views.

Having fully recovered from the crash, Marrone is now looking to undertake different “thrills” each week which will be voted on by his fans.

Marrone said the thrills could include adventures such as swimming with sharks, skydiving or bungee jumping.

He added: “My goal is to allow people to temporarily escape from their daily lives and live vicariously through me while I accomplish things that most people are too afraid to do, but have always wanted to.”
