Celebration of the 30th anniversary of IPCC

On the occasion of the 47th Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which will be held in Paris from 13-16 March 2018, a celebration day will take place in honor of the thirty-year existence of the IPCC. Since its creation, global scientists have been mobilizing to advance both climate science and the inclusion of climate change in the public decision. However, numerous challenges remain. This high-level meeting is the opportunity to pay tribute to the precious work of the institution, which has been supporting climate negotiations for three decades, and to reaffirm climate science value and relevance, by referring to the past and looking to the future.
The 30th anniversary celebrations of the IPCC will be held on 13 March 2018 from 11:00 a.m., at UNESCO Headquarters, in Paris. Three main sequences will give the opportunity to discuss key climate-related scientific and political issues, but also to reflect on the future and on the place of education and youth.
