G-Dragon of boy band BIGBANG begins his mandatory military service starting today.
YG Entertainment, in a written statement Tuesday said BIGBANG's leader and main songwriter will enter a five-week basic army traning session in Gangwon-do Province,... and will later be assigned to a unit, where he will serve his rest of his service.
It's mandatory for all healthy Korean men to fulfill their military duty of 21 months.
Also serving their military term is BIGBANG's main rapper T.O.P. who is carrying out his duty as a public service worker,... and the recently married Taeyang will also join the military next month.
BIGBANG have a long list of hit songs under their belt,.. like "Bang Bang Bang" and "Last Farewell."
