Anarchists clashed with riot police in Greece on Saturday after thousands of protesters from across the Balkans marched against nationalism in the city of Thessaloniki.

Riot police threw stun grenades and used tear gas against the protesting anarchists.

According to police, a number of protesters threw petrol bombs at officers.

The gathering was organised after far-right activists burned down an anarchist premises in January.

Authorities estimate about 2,000 anti-establishment protesters from Greece and the Balkans participated in the march.
