Hey guys! New video as promised! Sorry for the delay!\r
\r
This time, I made a timelapse video with a vocal overlay walkthrough on how I made the casings for my electronic eyes for my Sans and Gaster!Sans masks. \r
\r
I apologize because the footage of the wiring and testing was lost due to my phone not uploading them to the cloud properly. Darn technology!!!!\r
\r
The next time I wire something together Ill make a video! :) I promise more videos, cuz you guys really seem to like these!!\r
\r
Anyways, a quick written breakdown:\r
\r
The main part of the eye uses a clear thermoplastic I bought on eBay. Its this stuff: HOWEVER You can use any type of clear plastic! Check local hobby stores or even office stores for clear binder inserts, etc! Look around your house and recycle stuff!!\r
I sanded the clear plastic down and then colored it yellow with a Prismacolor alcohol marker (alcohol markers work best for plastics, btw!). I wouldnt have had to color the plastic had I had a yellow LED. I only had white at the time, so I also sanded and colored the white LED to help tint it yellow. I then glued tissue paper (also colored yellow) using a clear glue onto the plastic.\r
Mind you, for regular Sans, I had a blue LED and didnt have to color anything!\r
\r
Then I made the cone. The cone helps funnel and focus the light from the LED outwards through the plastic piece. For this I used Worbla, another thermoplastic. I heated it up and molded it to the desired shape. If you do not have Worbla, dont fear! You can use something around the house thats malleable but thick, like cardboard from a cereal box! Just cut a circle a bit bigger than the eye shape, cut from one point to the middle and fold the cut together to make a cone and glue!\r
\r
While my Worbla was malleable I stuck my LED inside.\r
\r
Next I put aluminum foil inside to help reflect the light outwards towards the clear plastic. Just glue that right on in there!!\r
\r
Once the cone and plastic are set, just stick them together! Because I used a thermoplastic, I heated everything just a bit and they melded together. I added an extra strip of worbla around both to sort of tape everything together, just in case. If you dont use thermoplastic, feel free to hot glue or regular glue it together. If you test your light and you can see that the glue makes the edges look uneven, just paint the top of your clear plastic with black acrylic paint to smooth out the edges and give it the shape you want (thats how I made my regular Sans masks eye look a bit more like an elliptical)!!\r
\r
Finally, for the pupil, I glued a small circle of paper to aluminum foil, and stuck that foil side down onto the clear plastic. You may also just paint the pupil on, but I felt that the foil helped reflect the light better!\r
\r
And thats it, youre done! Now you just have to wire everything together! You can check out my post I made on the circutry on the following platforms:\r

\r
After everything is wired I hot glue the lights to thin aluminum wire (so the eyes can move) and hot glue the aluminum wire into the inside of the masks.\r
