Walmart Will Soon Bring Meal Kits to Thousands of Stores Move over Amazon, Walmart is now producing its own brand of pre-portioned kits priced between $8 to $15. The kits are designed to feed two people. Walmart says the recipes were developed at at Walmart’s Culinary and Innovation Center, which opened in June 2016. All kits are made and packaged in individual stores daily. They will be available for purchase at 250 stores nationwide, with plans to roll out to more than 2,000 this year. Meal kit recipes include, steak dijon and sweet chili chicken. They also do not require a subscription. Walmart's offering comes after news that Amazon began selling its own pre-portioned meal kits via AmazonFresh.
