The Shape of water has bagged the best movie award at the 2018 Oscar award function. The love story between a mute woman and a mysterious, scaled creature beat the other two major contenders Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Get Out. The director of the Shape of water Guillermo del Toro won the best director award earlier in the night. This was Del Toro’s first nomination as director and he becomes the third Mexican film-maker in the last five years to win best director.
