Lets make a Simple Electric Car - based on cheap vibrating electric toothbrush

This toy car is based on the cheap vibrating electric toothbrush that is available from my local Poundland shop. This gives us a handy self contained power unit holding the motor, the battery, and the on/off switch.\r
\r
If you cannot obtain one of these toothbrushes then you will have to source the motor from somewhere else, perhaps a broken toy car or an old tape cassette player.\r
You will also need to mount the battery and find (or make) a suitable on/off switch.\r
There are other small electric powered items that are even easier to use because they dont have that weight on the shaft. Things like hand held battery operated fans, nasal hair trimmers, beard trimmers, lint removers. I have used them all.\r
\r
I use hot-glue because it makes life very easy. If you cannot use hot-glue then sticky tape will hold the axle tubes in place and possibly the electric motor if you are lucky. You might need to make a cardboard bracket to make it more secure.\r
Sticking the two bottle tops together might be more challenging. You will need something sticky, maybe that tape that is sticky on both sides.\r
\r
This car is loosely based on the one shown on this link by imunkedal\r

His build is spread over 3 videos and is excellent.\r

4 milk bottle tops\r
1 smaller bottle top\r
1 drinking straw\r
Thin garden cane or\r

or a small electric motor\r
and a battery\r
\r
Tools\r

Hobby saw or junior hacksaw\r
Bradawl or pointy item\r
\r
To remove the weight from the motor in the vibrating toothbrush you will need a small hammer, a thin nail, a block of wood and a metal plate with a slot in it. I show how to do this in the video using some small pliers in place of the metal plate but I think I will do a short Help File video to cover this as a separate project as people may find it helpful.\r
