Guns N 'Roses is an American hard rock band formed in Hollywood (Los Angeles, California) in 1985. The group was founded by Axl Rose and rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin.
The current lineup features vocalist Axl Rose, rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese, drummer Frank Ferrer, bassist Duff McKagan and lead guitarist Slash, these last two, considered classic members of the group, they resumed their place in the band after 23 years.
The band has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, including more than 58 million albums in the United States. The album Appetite for Destruction of 1987 has sold 30 million copies worldwide and reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. In addition, four songs from the album entered the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Sweet Child or 'Mine" was at number one. His 1988 album G N 'R Lies has sold more than 14 million copies worldwide and his song "Patience" entered the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 and the album reached number two on the Billboard 200.
The twin albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, of 1991, rose to number 2 and 1 of the Billboard 200, respectively, staying for 108 weeks, having a combined sales figure of more than 35 million copies worldwide and 14 million copies sold only in the United States, six of the singles of both albums reached the Billboard Hot 100 and four of them entered the Top 10 of the same list. On June 30, 1992 they performed for the first time in Spain, at the Benito Villamarín football stadium in Seville together with Faith No More and Soundgarden, while the planned concert in Madrid was suspended due to the aluminosis of the Vicente Calderón stadium.
