Theoretical Physicist Predicts We’ll Make Alien Contact By Century’s End

Humans have imagined any number of ways our first known interaction with aliens will go down, and, according to one theoretical physicist, we may soon have a much clearer picture.

Humans have imagined any number of ways our first known interaction with aliens will go down, with visions ranging from making new best friends to being completely wiped off the face of our own planet.  According to theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, we could soon have a much clearer picture, as we will likely make contact with a far-off civilization by century's end.  "Let me stick my neck out," he wrote in a recent Reddit post. "I personally feel is that within this century, we will make contact with an alien civilization, by listening in on their radio communications."  Kaku continued, "But talking to them will be difficult, since they could be tens of light years away. So, in the meantime, we must decipher their language to understand their level of technology. Are they Type I, II, or III???," referencing the measure for technological achievement.
The physicist closes his prediction by addressing unknowns, writing, "Are they expansive and aggressive, or peaceful."
"Another possibility is that they land on the White House lawn and announce their existence," Kaku further noted. "But I think that is unlikely, since we would be like forest animals to them, i.e. not worth communicating with."
He's not the first to predict that alien contact is relatively imminent.  Some have even floated the idea that they already know we're here but have opted to observe rather than engage.
