Amazing moment gray whale rolls around incredibly close to California beach

A gray whale migrating from Mexico to Alaska made a stop on its trip to put on an unusual show for California beachgoers.

The drone footage, captured on February 24 in Newport Beach, shows the 35-feet-long whale rolling around in extremely shallow water.

Gray whales travel 12,000 miles every year from their winter calving lagoons in the warm waters of Mexico and their feeding grounds in the cold Arctic seas.
