Prosecutors to demand punishment for ousted former president Park Geun-hye

Wrapping up its roughly nine month-long trial,... a local court is set to hear from prosecutors today on how long they think ousted former president Park Geun-hye should spend behind bars.
The Seoul Central District Court is holding its final hearing at 10AM today,... where prosecutors are likely to demand heavy punishment for Park, who was indicted last April on 18 charges that include bribery, abuse of power and leaking state secrets.
She's also accused of colluding with her confidante Choi Soon-sil, in extorting some 55 million dollars from firms like Samsung, Lotte and SK,.. in exchange for business favors.
Park is also indicted for letting Choi meddle in state affairs-- even though her friend had no official role within the government.
Choi was sentenced to 20 years in prison early this month,... something watchers say could provide a glimpse at how long prosecutors will demand for Park.
The judge will hand down the former president's sentence in late March or early April.
