White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is said to have an important ally amid reports of President Trump's growing doubts about him.
Axios is reporting that "First Lady Melania Trump genuinely supports Kelly and likes him a lot. Thinks he's a pro."
The outlet adds that Kelly has helped to gain and strengthen her support of him by engaging her in White House plans.
Nevertheless, there is increasing speculation that Kelly may not be Chief of Staff for much longer.
According to Reuters, multiple officials in the Trump administration have pointed out friction between the president and Kelly, in part, over disagreements about issues like the handling of staff security clearances.

There may also be tension stemming from their interpersonal dynamic, with Trump reportedly unhappy about the narrative that Kelly has brought discipline to the White House and the general said to be displeased about the way he has been treated by the president at times.
