Wendy Williams ‘Livid’ Over Guest Host Idea During Show Hiatus For Health Issues

No one replaces Wendy! After Williams revealed she’s taking a three-week hiatus from The Wendy Williams Show to battle Graves’ disease, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal she shut down talks of having a guest host replace her during her absence.

“Producers wanted to have Angie Martinez guest host The Wendy Williams Show while she was out,” a source told Radar. “It’s a great way for them to give Angie a test show. They are developing ideas with her.”

But Williams, 53, wasn’t on board the radio personality filling in!

“Wendy was livid,” the insider said. “So producers backed down.”

Williams, who suffers from thyroid issues, claimed she was out for three days last week for “flu-like symptoms.”

Days later, Williams opened up about her diagnosis on the show.

“Along with the thyroid disease, I also have Graves’ disease,” she said. “It’s an auto-immune disease that leads to an overactive thyroid. When you see my eye balls pop out, know this, you’re making fun of a sick woman!” 

The network will air re-runs of The Wendy Williams Show during her hiatus.
