Lawyer Pleads Guilty to Mueller Probe Charge

A lawyer has pleaded guilty to a charge of lying to federal investigators as part of U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
The special counsel's probe seeks to determine Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Alex van der Zwaan, who is also the son-in-law to one of of Russia’s richest men, pleaded guilty in federal court on Feb. 20th.
Zwaan is expected to be sentenced on April 3rd.
He stood accused of making false statements regarding communications he had with Rick Gates, an associate of Paul Manafort and a former Trump campaign aide.
