'Black Panther' Demolishes Box Office Records Within First Four Day Release The Hollywood Reporter released the first four day box office numbers for the epic Marvel superhero film. The film had the best Monday in box office history, making $40.2 million and beating Star Wards: The Force Awakens' $40.1 million. President's Day weekend alone, the film made $242 million and has global estimates of raking in $426.6 million. The only movie to make the most money in history at the North American box office is Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $288.1 million. Black Panther also scored the second-biggest opening for a Marvel superhero flick, just behind The Avengers.
