The film had the best Monday in box office history, making $40.2 million and beating Star Wards: The Force Awakens' $40.1 million. President's Day weekend alone, the film made $242 million and has global estimates of raking in $426.6 million. The only movie to make the most money in history at the North American box office is Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $288.1 million. Black Panther also scored the second-biggest opening for a Marvel superhero flick, just behind The Avengers.
