Ash Cloud Rises Over Indonesia's Sinabung Volcano

A huge cloud of ash and steam rose over the Sinabung volcano in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, following an eruption on the morning of Monday, February 19.Indonesia’s Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (CVGHM) issued a warning notice to aviators that the ash cloud had reached 24,000 feet and was expected to blow southeast-east.This video shows the ash cloud looming over the town of Berastagi, which is located around 15 miles to the west of Mount Sinabung.
