7.2-magnitude earthquake hits Oaxaca state in Mexico

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit southern and central Mexico on Friday evening, damaging buildings and shocking local residents.

The epicenter of the earthquake was eight kilometers to the northeast of Pinotepa Nacional, southern state of Oaxaca, reported the National Seismological Service of Mexico.

It is said that the tremor was felt in the Mexico City, which was 350 kilometers away from the epicenter.
